For some months now the newest model in our range has been under development. The BrydgeAir is the end result and one that is sure to set the standard for iPad keyboards in the future. Our mantra has been well stated. We are focused on providing our customers with an exceptional experience by developing a range of products that are as beautiful as the devices they are designed to pair with. In the case of the BrydgeAir we have looked at every detail to make sure that everything from the internal components to the final finish of the keyboard reflect the quality and exclusivity of the iPad Air. When looking at the new design, we turned to the old. We knew that customers loved the original Brydge+ however they also had some complaints.

  • The first thing we addressed was the weight. The BrydgeAir is a huge 35% lighter than the original making it one of the lightest keyboards on the market.
  • The second thing we’ve changed is the the keyboard layout. For some people the smaller shift key on the right hand side of the keyboard was cause for frustration. The BrydgeAir removes that issue with an entirely redesigned layout that is similar to the MacBook Pro.
  • Finally the speakers. The speakers in the Brydge+ get mixed reviews. Some say they are great, much louder than the iPad and unfortunately some say they are loud but tinny. The BrydgeAir has a completely new speaker design that will set a new standard for audio with the iPad. Without giving too much away, we have taken a completely different approach to the challenge. The end result is an integrated speaker design that is tuned to deliver a sound quality that is far superior to the iPad.

With the design all but done, we are now heading into production. As we do this we will begin to provide weekly updates to everyone who has pre-ordered a BrydgeAir on the progress of their unique keyboard. Our aim is to document the process so we can share what it takes to take a product from a simple idea to a mass produced product that can delight customers world wide. Until our next update, if you haven't already done so be sure to pre-order a BrydgeAir today.
